What To Expect
You may be wondering if you can be hypnotized; in short, the answer is yes. Hypnosis works on both children and adults and is a very safe and effective way to tap into your subconscious. What happens during each session is specific to you and your goals, but every session follows a similar structure. A typical session lasts from one to two hours and is completely confidential.
Whether you see Shannon in person in Derby or work with her over Zoom, here’s what to expect:
- Conversation and questions
First, you’ll answer a few questions about yourself and the issue you want help with. This is also your time to ask any questions you have so you feel comfortable before you begin. - Induction and relaxation
Next comes the induction. Shannon will guide you through a process to help you enter a very relaxed, high‑learning state called hypnosis. You will be able to hear everything and remain aware of what is taking place the entire time. - Therapeutic work
Once you are fully relaxed and in a trance‑like state, Shannon will use hypnotherapy techniques tailored to your needs to help you address the problem or issue you came in for. - Returning to wakeful awareness
At the end, you’ll be gently guided back into full, wakeful awareness through an orderly process, with time to re‑orient and ask any follow‑up questions.
Many people notice an extra burst of energy after their session and often report feeling lighter, happier, and more confident as they move back into their day.
